“Flame detector is the newest product of our company which is used to detect visible and invisible radiation in fire alarm systems, specially F&G systems,” Shahed Farahani, a member of the board of directors of the knowledge-based company, told ANA.

He added that the detector has been designed for flame detection and provides the possibility of detecting the smallest flames in less than one second, noting, “It is widely used in environments like refineries and high-risk industries.”

“Flame detector sensors that produce smoke and gas and are knowledge-based have been made in Iran for the first time. The circuit, board and body of all these products have been designed by the company and only the body parts are made outside the company,” Farahani said.

A flame detector is a sensor designed to detect and respond to the presence of a flame or fire, allowing flame detection. Responses to a detected flame depend on the installation, but can include sounding an alarm, deactivating a fuel line (such as a propane or a natural gas line), and activating a fire suppression system.

When used in applications such as industrial furnaces, their role is to provide confirmation that the furnace is working properly; it can be used to turn off the ignition system though in many cases they take no direct action beyond notifying the operator or control system.
