Mohammad Reza Rastegar, the managing director of the company, stated that the main mission of his firm is designing and manufacturing of all kinds of ships and boats, saying, “4-meter to 5-meter boats up to 90- meter ships, all kinds of offshore vessels and speedboats, tugboats and all types of cargo ships are among the products manufactured by this company.”

He noted that all the manufactured vessels produced by the company have been commercialized, adding, “So far, we have designed 40 types of ships and produced nearly 60 of them.”

Rastegar underlined that his company has designed, built and delivered the first AHTS vessel in Iran, saying, “The vessel is the third generation of offshore tugboats that can meet the needs of platforms, and with its wide deck, it can carry cement, mud, drilling materials, water and fuel for the ships and is also able to move platforms.”

He described designing 36, 37, 40, and 42-meter vessels and tugboats as another achievement of his company, and said, “These tugboats enjoy the power of 2,000 to 6,000 horsepower and one of the newest tugboats designed by our company is ASD with a power of 6,000 horsepower, which is one of the largest tugs of this type.”

Iran has made good progress in developing systems and equipment related to navigation and shipping industry.

In a relevant development last year, a knowledge-based company in Iran succeeded in designing and producing qualified rescue equipment, suspension systems and military and civilian life jackets indigenously.

“Rescue systems are divided into two categories; one is individual rescue and the other is used for group rescue. These life jackets are used to save tourists and even lifeguards, allowing the lifeguard to save a large number of people at once,” Arash Rahmani, the managing director of the knowledge-based Arash Shatin company which produces marine equipment, told ANA.

He described the light weight and small dimensions of his company’s products (lifejackets and inflatables) as the special advantage that makes them different and distinguished among other models, saying that these products can be used in ships and airplanes for many passengers.

“Our company has made possible rescuing of sinking ships and the recovery of sunken products for the first time in Iran,” Rahmani said.
