“The X-ray machine was made by this company to prevent smuggling of goods. Now this Iran-made machine has been installed at Mahirood shared border crossing with Afghanistan, Shahid Rajaei port, and Astara border crossing,” Masoud Assadi, a member of the research and development team of the Iranian knowledge-based company said in an interview with ANA.

He said that domestically manufacturing of the machine has saved the country millions of dollar by preventing its imports, adding that the price of this machine is more than five million euros.

“This group started its business by producing medical stretchers and only with two people, and later the construction of a hotel hospital, operation room LED lights, and the overhaul of the linear accelerator for cancer treatment were among the other activities done in the company in the past,” the researcher added.

Assadi stated that only three companies Elekta, Siemens and BRIND are producers of linear accelerator for cancer treatment, while importing their products into Iran faced a serious hurdle after the sanctions were imposed.

Meanwhile, he pointed out that the sanctions brought the idea of locally manufacturing the linear accelerator machine to the mind of their research team.

“After six years of research on the machine, we produced 70% of its components,” he added.

“Following successful production of the linear accelerator, the researchers at our company are now producing an eight-seat passenger private jet, with all of the body and engines planned to be designed and built in the company,” the researcher further claimed.
