The first freelance school in Iran will be launched in cooperation between the University of Science and Culture and the Digital Economy Development Headquarters of the Iranian Vice-Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy.

“With the motto of experience a different world with the development of Iran's freelance ecosystem, the freelance school seeks to promote the freelance culture, empower freelancers and develop the freelance ecosystem of the country to increase the employment of young people,” said Soheil Dadkhah, the head of the Business Development Foundation of the University of Science and Culture.

Noting that the school will provide educational and support possibilities for people who are looking for innovative and creative solutions in the field of freelancing, he said that it can also develop and promote the culture of freelancing, encourage employers to entrust services to freelancers, persuade people to become freelancers, and guide freelancers to the relevant platforms.

The term freelance is commonly used for a person who is self-employed and not necessarily committed to a particular employer long-term. Freelance workers are sometimes represented by a company or a temporary agency that resells freelance labor to clients; others work independently or use professional associations or websites to get work.

Fields, professions, and industries where freelancing is predominant include music, writing, acting, computer programming, web design, graphic design, translating and illustrating, film and video production, and other forms of piece work that some cultural theorists consider central to the cognitive-cultural economy.
