Tehran-Based University Launches Subsonic Wind Tunnel

TEHRAN (ANA)- Researchers at Iran's Shahid Beheshti University (SBU) have launched subsonic wind tunnel system.
News ID : 3127

The subsonic wind tunnel system has been developed and inaugurated in the Aerodynamics Lab of the SBU Faculty of Advanced Technologies and Aerospace Engineering.

The 150 x 60 subsonic wind tunnel system was launched at the University after loading from the source in the morning.

A practical open-circuit suction wind tunnel is used for conducting experiments in aerodynamics. The Subsonic Wind Tunnel is a cost effective option to provide extensive experimental capabilities in aerodynamics. The wind tunnel gives accurate results and is suitable for undergraduate study and research projects.

In the process of simulation by the wind tunnel, aerodynamic tests and visualization of the flow around the flying object has been made possible. This device can facilitate the design and manufacturing process by optimizing the lift and drag coefficients, increasing the final speed, identifying and eliminating areas with strong gradient flows and reducing noise for aerial vehicles.
