“Possessing advanced laboratory equipment to measure technical features, we make our products based on the standards required and approved by consumers and present them to major industries of Iran like oil, gas, petrochemicals, refineries, sugar and glucose plants, chemical plants, and drinking water treatment and industrial wastewater treatment companies,” said Mohammad Erfan Saqafi, the sales expert of the knowledge-based company.

He described production of catalyst-based graphite as one of the achievements of the knowledge-based company, and stated, “In most chemical industries like petrochemicals, refineries, acid production and other industries, the presence of graphite in the reaction medium is required and it increases the number and speed of reactions.”

“Active carbon is another product of our company which is used in refineries and petrochemical industries for gas sweetening and removing the smell of gas,” he added.

“Also, the researchers of our company have succeeded in producing a catalyst for application in car canisters. A piece of canister is mounted at the outlet of the car's gas tank and absorbs gas vapor,” Saqafi explained.

In a relevant development in September, experts at an Iranian nanotechnology company succeeded in producing different types of high-quality catalysts used in oil industry.

Nazanin Nasrollahi, a research and development (R&D) expert of Exir Novin Farayand Asia company, explained about the application of nanocatalysts in oil industry and the products of her company.

“Exir Novin Farayand Asia company produces all kinds of catalysts containing precious metals needed by the petrochemical and refinery industries,” she added.

“These materials include catalysts for refinery isomerization units to produce Euro 4 and Euro 5 gasoline, catalysts for naphtha reforming units, paraffin dehydrogenation catalysts, catalysts for isomerization of xylenes, conversion catalyst of C9-C10 for conversion to aromatic compounds (BTX), benzene alkylation catalyst, ethylene oxidation catalyst, hydrotreating catalysts NHT, GHT, KHT, RCD, hydrocracking catalysts and hydrogenation catalysts of olefins, diolefins and acetylene,” Nasrollahi said.

Also, in August, Iranian experts at Ardakan Industrial Ceramics (AIC) holding had also used nanotechnology to produce different types of catalysts and silicate-based ceramics.

Asqar Borhani, the managing director of the AIC holding, said that the AIC was founded 29 years ago with the aim of producing industrial alumina and silicate-based ceramics, various catalysts, alpha alumina powder and active alumina, etc., with an annual capacity of 150,000 tons.

“AIC is a parent company, which includes Pars Oxid Kasra aluminum company, Diba Seram Novin Kasra ceramic balls company and Zarrin Poudr Novin Kasra mineral engineering company,” he added.
