Iranian Experts Indigenize Production of UPVC Windows, Doors

TEHRAN (ANA)- Iranian specialists at a technological company stationed at the incubator center of Islamic Azad University’ Farahan branch succeeded in making unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (UPVC) doors and windows with 100% Iran-made materials.

“Our technological firm which is active in the Islamic Azad University’s Farahan branch is a producer of molds (not just assembly), raw materials, and all parts of UPVC doors and windows,” Saeed Mohammadi Tabarteh, the director of the technological ‘Yekta Win’ company, told ANA.

“On the other hand, the raw profiles become UPVC windows and finally are sent to the consumers,” he added.

“Based on the scientific research that led to manufacturing UPVC doors and windows, we tried to prevent the occurrence of moisture in these windows, unlike the old doors and windows that contain moisture and damage the walls and buildings,” Mohammadi Tabarteh said.

Noting that the main part of the UPVC windows and doors and the raw material is PVC, he said that it is domestically produced by the petrochemical companies and 80% of the raw materials used for the PVC profiles are home-made.

“On the other hand, granules, stabilizers, and itanium require raw materials to become profiles, and these raw materials are supplied from inside and outside the country, and to a large extent, the raw materials added to PVC are indigenous,” Mohammadi Tabarteh said.

In a relevant development in June, an Iranian nanotechnology company had also succeeded in manufacturing UPVC profile for building doors and windows.

‘Shahin Sazeh Fajr’ company’s product has been modified by certain nanoparticles. Such an improvement has dedicated a broad spectrum of significant features to the UPVC matrix such as satisfactory impact strength, high fracture toughness, and favorable stiffness.

The impact resistance and compressive strength of UPVC parts have been enhanced through the incorporation of certain nanoparticles up to 3 and 12 times higher than that of standardized counterparts, respectively.

The product can be used as a building material, specially double-glazed door, frame and window profiles, an insulator in cabling, dentistry and piping industry.
