Weekly Trade of Commodities at IME Market Exceeds 731 Million Dollars

TEHRAN (ANA)- Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) witnessed trade of over 3.9 million tons of commodities with a total trading value of more than $731mln on its physical market during the week which ended on January 19, 2024.

Within the week ending on January 19, 2024, the IME witnessed trade of 3,908,033 tons of commodities with a total trading value of more than $731 million on its physical market, the IME's International Affairs and PR reported.

The exchange saw on its metals and minerals trading floor trade of 3,281,397 tons of commodities valued at nearly $464 million, it added.

On this floor the IME sold 1,480,000 tons of iron ore, 1,191,076 tons of cement, 429,975 tons of steel, 189,000 tons of sponge iron, 9,730 tons of copper, 7,650 tons of aluminum, 2,210 tons of zinc, 200 tons of molybdenum concentrate and 18 tons of precious metals concentrate.

Moreover, the IME witnessed on both domestic and export rings of its oil and petrochemical trading floor 546,578 tons of commodities worth almost $252 million.

Commodities traded on this floor included 160,500 tons of vacuum bottom, 158,224 tons of bitumen, 108,642 tons of polymeric products, 68,500 tons of lube cut, 33,527 tons of chemicals, 10,710 tons of sulfur, 5,807 tons of oil, 500 tons of slops wax and 320 tons of feedstocks.

The IME also traded within the same week 80,058 tons of goods on its side market.

IME is one of the four major stock markets of Iran, the other three markets are Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE), Iran’s over-the-counter (OTC) market known also as Iran Fara Bourse (IFB), and Iran Energy Exchange (IRENEX).
