“The field of activity of Tabriz branch’s technological core is microfluids and microstructures. We are looking for technologies that can make equipment in small dimensions. Our members are mostly graduate students who want to present theses in industrial fields and pharmaceutical, medical and other industries,” Alireza Rostamzadeh Khosroshah told ANA on the sidelines of Asreh Omid Event in Tehran.

“We have been working seriously on the insulin patch for two years and no sample of the product has yet been presented in the world. Many companies claim to be working on it but there is no product in the market yet,” he added.

Rostamzadeh Khosroshah said that the insulin skin patch is like a bandage which is used for diabetic patients.

“Diabetic patients have to measure their self-reported blood sugar two or three times a day in order to inject insulin if they have hypoglycemia. This product automatically measures blood sugar and simultaneously provides insulin to the patient without the need for blood sampling or invasive procedures,” he underlined.

Islamic Azad University's "second step of revolution" under the title of Asreh Omid Event was held in Tehran's Mosalla from May 29 to June 01, 2022 to exhibit new achievements, equipment and products in the technological and innovation arenas in line with opening new windows towards strengthening the idea of creating ground for knowledge-based businesses at the 40th anniversary of establishment of the Islamic Azad University.
