Zare’pour made the remarks while elaborating on the latest conditions of the launch of Nahid1 and Nahid 2 satellites.

He noted that the two satellites are being prepared and hopefully will be launched by the end of the year.

Zare’pour also underlined that other satellites are also in line to be launched.

He pointed to the design and construction plan of research and operational satellites, saying that one of the plans of his ministry is to have at least two satellite launches until the end of the Iranian year (March 20).

Nahid 1 and Nahid 2 satellites are telecommunication satellites built in Iran by the Space Research Institute. Nahid-1 satellite was unveiled in February 2015 at the Space Technology Day ceremony. It was designed and built for the first time in the country at the Satellite Systems Research Institute of the Iran Space Research Institute under the leadership of the Iran Space Agency (ISA).

Nahid-2 satellite is one of the satellites with telecommunication communication technology equipped with a thruster and capable of performing maneuvers and orbital corrections, and it can be considered an important step in the construction of low-altitude telecommunication systems.

Head of the Iranian Space Agency Hassan Salarieh announced in November that Iran was planning to launch the home-made Nahid-1 (Venus-1) satellite into space by using the Qaem-100 satellite launch vehicles (SLV) in the near future.

“The stages of designing and manufacturing of Nahid-1 satellite have been completed and all related tests have been conducted successfully. This national satellite is in the stage of being put into the orbit and it will be launched into the space on the back of Qa’em-100 satellite carrier in the next few months,” Salarieh said.

He added that Nahid-1 satellite is a telecommunication satellite that can receive and send data in the KU band and has a high capability in controlling the situation.

“The capacity of knowledge-based companies is used in designing and construction of the Nahid-1 satellite as well as all other satellite projects,” Salarieh underlined.
