Iranian University Carries Out National Entrepreneurship Plan for Training 15,000 Students

TEHRAN (ANA) –Head of Science and Technology Park of Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT) said that National Entrepreneurship Promotion Project has been implemented by the highly prestigious Iranian university for training 15,000 students nationwide.

Farhang Fasihi, the chairman of the UAT Science and Technology Park made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the National Entrepreneurship Promotion Project held at the AUT, which was also attended by Minister of Science, Research and Technology Mohammad Ali Zolfigol, President of AUT Seyed Hassan Qodsipour, and Deputy Science Minister for Technology and Innovation Affairs Omid Rezaiefar.

“The National Entrepreneurship Promotion Plan is a mission assigned to the AUT Science and Technology Park by the Ministry of Science,” Fasihi said. 

“The National Entrepreneurship Promotion Plan mainly targets undergraduate and postgraduate students who are in their final year of their degrees,” the AUT Park’s chairman further said. 

Fasihi went on to say that while implementation of the mentioned national plan, the soft skills needed by students will be taken into consideration, adding that, “This plan is also implemented with the aim of creating a fair educational environment.”

“Currently, 15,000 to 30,000 students are the target of this plan,” he added. 

Stating that the basics of entrepreneurship will be taught to the students in the plan, he added, “15,000 people are planned to be trained in the national entrepreneurship plan in the first phase. In this plan, in addition to dividing the students into different categories, we will provide them 60 hours of online training about entrepreneurship.”

Saying that we cooperate with the National Elite Foundation in the entrepreneurship field, he said, “If a team of elites(experts) is formed, they can be supported and sponsored by the National Elite Foundation simply following being registered in the country's science and technology parks.”

Qodsipour, the AUT president described the AUT as a leading university in the field of jobs for university graduates, adding that the university has always been a pioneer in terms of generating jobs and meeting the technological needs in the country.

“Now, the first group of graduates have entered the job market thanks to national plan,” Qodsipour concluded.
